Healing Our Core Issues Trainings
Level 1 CEU Objectives
This is an introductory level course, 28 CEU program for all mental health clinicians. The following objectives will be achieved:
Participants will demonstrate:
- Competency in assessing for Developmental and Relational Trauma by conducting the DART Assessment
- Ability to explain the components of the Functional Adult
- Understanding of the components of family dysfunction
- Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of the framework for Healing Our Core Issues model to their clinical practice
- Understanding the application of family of origin analysis as it relates to their self-report
- Thorough understanding of the HOCI framework
- Understanding of family constellations/roles within families and how they protected clients historically
- Understanding of the historical selves
Participants will be able to describe:
- Developmental trauma
- Relational trauma
- The impact of developmental and relational trauma on adult functioning
- How to provide experiential therapy utilizing felt experiences and historical selves to work with trauma in clients
- How mindfulness and somatic work assist clients in integrating their traumatic experiences
Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core area and practice of:
- Value and self-worth
- "Loving the self"
- Protection and boundaries
- "Protecting the self"
- Owning your reality and humanity
- "Knowing the self"
- Owning your needs/wants
- "Caring for the self"
- Balance and moderation
- Moderating and “containing the self"
- Being Attached
- Connection and “interdependence with others”
Participants will observe a video demonstration and identify and apply the techniques involved in the DART assessment by demonstrating:
- Role of the Therapist in DART assessment
- Role of the Client in DART assessment
- Role of the Observer of therapist and client in DART assessment
Participants will demonstrate the ability to analyze the small group experience:
- As a therapist using the HOCI model
- As a client using the HOCI model
Participants will demonstrate the ability to integrate all the elements of this model into a client’s ongoing treatment plan.
Participants will be able to discuss and apply how this treatment approach can be used in a variety of clinical settings.
