Healing Our Core Issues Institute

Certificate 
Requirements

The certificate program consists of  24 hours of case consultation, completing Level 1 and Level 2 and completing your own personal intensive. 

Case consultations meet via Zoom, a HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing program, for 2 hours every 12 months with an approved consultant. There are usually 6 people in a group. 

Before attending Level 2, each participant must complete a Healing Our Core Issues weekend intensive for personal/professional development. During the approximate 12 months of consultation, there will be several opportunities to attend a Healing Our Core Issues Weekend Intensive as a participant. Please get in touch with us for dates and providers. 

Also another way to accelerate the learning process in the model, you may observe an intensive done by an approved consultant for your own benefit for deeper understanding of the model in action.

Consultation Groups

For those wanting to complete the certificate program, at least 24 hours of consultation and 8 hours before attending Level 2 are required.  This allows the participants to deepen their understanding of the HOCI model and apply it to current cases. 
This small group of 4-6 participants meet on Zoom, a videoconferencing program, for 2 hours a month with an approved consultant. The cost is $105 a month. 
When all 24 hours are completed, participants will receive their certificate once all documentation has been submitted and approved.

2 hours each month for 12 months Consultation (online Zoom) - $1260
Your own Personal Intensive - Average price $1400 to $1600

Healing Our Core Issues
Level 1

This four-day training will encompass a variety of teaching styles. It will include lectures, large and small group discussions, and practicum. 

The focus of this training is to introduce therapists to a broad overview of developmental and relational trauma and its impact on adult functioning. It will introduce and apply the following topics: Mindfulness, Core Issues work, Attachment, and elements of Somatic Body Based work will be introduced as a way to integrate developmental and relational trauma through the body. The practicum consists of working with your family of origin history with a role-play partner using the DART (Developmental and Relational Trauma) Assessment in a small group with a trained facilitator. After this training, you will have practical skills and the ability to administer the DART Assessment that you can apply to your clients immediately. 

The full cost of the 2026 - 2027 Level 1 workshop is $1,000. We offer early bird discounts, please see the dates in the side column.

Level 2

This five-day training will encompass a variety of teaching styles. Lectures, large and small group discussions, and a practicum will be included. To attend Level 2, you must take your personal intensive before the Level 2 training. You must also join a consultation group and attend at least 8 hours of instruction before attending Level 2. In the consultation group, we review the material from Level 1 and deepen your understanding of the model and use of the DART Assessment so that you can have a successful experience in Level 2.  

This training uses the DART (Developmental and Relational Trauma) Assessment to map your client’s childhood developmental history and incorporate the other two essential DART Processes. Using demonstration and small group role plays, therapists learn how to conduct the “Re-parenting the Historical Selves” and  “Standing in Your Truth” Processes. This practicum consists of working with your family of origin and trauma issues with a role-play partner in a small group with a trained facilitator. After this training, you will have advanced and nuanced skills to apply in your practice for healing your client’s childhood developmental trauma.

The cost of the online Level 2 workshops via Zoom is $1,400.

  This four-day training will encompass a variety of teaching styles. It will include lectures, large group discussions, experiential practicum, and psychodrama. You need to have completed Level 2 to attend Level 3.
 
This training will use the DART (Developmental and Relational Trauma) Assessment to map your assigned partner's childhood developmental history and incorporate the other two essential DART Processes. Using small group role plays, practitioners learn how to combine the “Re-parenting the Historical Selves” and “Standing in Your Truth” Processes. This practicum also consists of understanding the components of psychodrama and the demonstration. There will be exercises using somatic body techniques, which, after this training, will have advanced your nuanced skills to apply in your practice for healing your client’s childhood developmental trauma. Also, there will be exploration of yoga, giving you more attunement to your body's sensations and an appreciation for how your body is a window into what is happening in your nervous system.


The 2025 Level 3 workshop is priced at $1,800.
