Healing Our Core Issues
CEU Details (Level 1)

This is an introductory level, 28 CEU program for all mental health clinicians. The following objectives will be achieved:


  • Participants will demonstrate competency in assessing for Developmental and Relational Trauma by conducting the DARTT Assessment.
  • Participants demonstrate ability to explain the components of the functional adult.
  • Participants will demonstrate understanding of the components of family dysfunction.
  • Participants will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the concepts of the framework for Healing Our Core Issues model to their clinical practice.
  • Participants will demonstrate understanding application of family of origin analysis as it relates to their self report.
  • Participants will demonstrate understanding of the core area of value and self-worth.
  • Participants will demonstrate ability to utilize the core practice of "loving the self"
  • Participants will demonstrate understanding of the core area of protection and boundaries.
  • Participants will demonstrate application of the core practice of "protecting the self"
  • Participants will be able to describe developmental trauma.
  • Participants will be able to describe relational trauma.
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate thorough understanding of the HOCII framework.
  • Participants will be able to describe the impact of developmental and relational trauma on adult functioning.
  • Participants will be able to analyze how mindfulness and somatic work assist clients in integrating their traumatic experiences.
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate understanding of family constellations/roles within families and how they protected clients historically.
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate understanding of the historical self.
  • Participants will be able to describe how to provide experiential therapy utilizing felt experiences and historical selves to work with trauma in clients.
  • Participants will demonstrate understanding of the core area of humanity and reality.
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core practice of "knowing the self."
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core area of interdependency and needs/wants.
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core practice of "caring for the self."
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core area of openness and moderation.
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core practice of "moderating and containing the self"
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core area of attachment and connection.
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply the core practice of connection.
  • Participants will demonstrate ability to analyze small group experience as a therapist using the HOCII model.
  • Participants will demonstrate ability to analyze small group experience as a client using the HOCII model.
  • Participants will demonstrate ability to integrate all the elements of this model into a client’s on-going treatment plan.
  • Participants will be able to discuss and apply how this treatment approach can be used in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Participants will observe a video demonstration and identify and apply the techniques involved in the DARTT assessment.
  • Demonstrate role of Therapist in DARTT assessment.
  • Demonstrate role of Client in DARTT assessment.
  • Demonstrate role of Observer in DARTT assessment.
